Open Roles
Woodshop instruction (part-time) — We are seeking a dynamic, talented instructor to bring the joy of woodworking to life in our woodshop. Our shop has a hand tool emphasis, meaning we’re looking for individuals who understand the intricacies of chisels, hand planes, and the various tools that support that process.
Woodshop manager (part-time) — Between our daily woodshop classes and our membership, our shop is a bustling place. We are seeking a part-time shop manager to assist with the range of tasks that accompany a busy woodshop, from stock prep to tool maintenance to student support.
Cafe staff (part-time) — Our cafe counter is the social heart of the space, and the first place you see when you walk into recess grove. We’re seeking warm, capable people to support behind the counter: preparing food and drink, keeping the cafe flowing, and creating a welcoming rhythm for members and guests alike. This role blends hospitality, multitasking, and care for the creative details that bring the cafe to life.
Art Sommelier (part-time) — Our studio thrives when people feel supported and inspired to create. We’re seeking artists to serve as ‘Art Sommeliers’ to host and guide guests, and help people of all skill and experience levels to get into a creative flow across various art media. This role is part facilitator, part translator — someone who can read a room, offer gentle direction, and help people feel inspired making things.
